01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
At Il filo, pasta is rolled out and cut to order, making its preparation part of the experience. One diner who visited for lunch remembered watching the dishes being finished in front of them, as well as the freshly made pasta. On a separate dinner visit, another diner chose carbonara and cacio e pepe: with handmade pasta at the centre of the menu, there is the pleasure of comparing plates with different sauces.
Carbonara was singled out by one diner as a particularly memorable dish. Other visitors opted for Bolognese, so there is a choice of sauces as well as pasta. One diner also mentioned ordering tomato and mozzarella as a starter, an option for those who would like a dish to enjoy while waiting for their pasta.
One dinner account describes an à la carte meal of salad, prosciutto and mozzarella, and pasta; another visitor chose a lunch set on their first visit. Diners have also reported enjoying the restaurant’s set menu, à la carte dishes and kappo-style dining, offering different ways to put a meal together. Some visitors said they were able to discuss dishes based on the day’s ingredients or have the amount and contents adjusted to their preferences, so it may be worth mentioning any requests when ordering.
Some lunch diners have reported having wine paired with their meal, and visitors have also praised the wine selection. Lunch is served on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 12 to 14; dinner runs from 18 to 22, except on Wednesdays. Reservations are available, and are recommended for dinner.
